Wyoming woman faces trial for using the phrase “get off my lawn”

Melissa Harris of Wright is charged with disorderly conduct after using an obscene language during a dispute with a neighbor and demanding she leave her property. The court dismissed the case before the trial.

Harris’s attorney argues that the obscene language itself should not be considered a crime, citing Wyoming Supreme Court decisions. The court ruled that the context of the remarks should be determined during a jury trial.
